..to Mrs. Corrigan and the Z.O.N.E. Committee for
a wonderful Z.O.N.E. Day 2008. What does Z.O.N.E. mean? Zillions
Of New Experiences. Each student experienced three ZONEs (within
their grade level) and enjoyed new adventures. This years
theme was Cowboys and the Wild West. Our opening assembly
was The Wild, Wild West Show put on by Lets Pretend
Entertainment, a theatrical group from Puyallup that uses the students
as the actors! Then teachers planned classroom events that included
a demonstration of horse tack, square dancing, drawing horses, campfire
survival, Wagons Ho! (a reality game along the wagon trail), and
more. The gym became our Jolly Ranch decorated in western décor
and featured steer roping, cow pie tossing, licorice knot-tying,
face painting, make a brand (branding iron art), line dancing and
chuck wagon relay races.
